Judging Our Parents

I came across this recent IELTS essay on

Many people believe that women make better parents than men and that this is why they have the greater role in raising children in most societies. Others claim that men are just as good as women at parenting. Write an essay expressing your point of view. Give reasons for your answer.

Below are my thoughts on above essay topic.

Mother has a larger role in raising children as a mother has been qualified as a better parent than father while others believe there is no difference in raising the capacity of men versus women. Most societies have a trend of women taking responsibilities of household chores and have an innate quality of raising children.

From ancient time, women’s role in varied cultures has been similar of taking care of house while men considered to be a breadwinner. Having a duty of household work give women a chance to spend a lot more time with child. Mother can do multi-tasking while completing cooking or cleaning the home at the same time, she can take care of child by keeping him in front of her eyes. UN research shows that more than 70% of women are housewives making them de-facto care-taker of children.

Nurturing a child for a big chunk of time gives an added advantage of knowing his habits and needs for a particular time eventually make her an expert in raising children while man is out for earning. Father and mother both are equally attached to the child even though, the father cannot take care or the child as good as the mother owing to less time spent with a child. Women, having innate quality obtained from parental genes, can learn caring techniques with ease and understand the need of a child when he starts crying.

In my opinion, mother and father both are equally responsible for raising children although more space with children and inbuilt qualities of nurturing make a women winner in parenting race. Women are a superior parent than men in most regions of the world due to a bigger role in raising children. As father is mostly involved in financial responsibilities, women is considered to get higher share in raising a child with atmost care.
